Training Classes

All classes are run under the supervision of qualified instructors. Our instructors have many years of experience between them  and are always willing to discuss any training or behavioral problems you may be having with your dog.

New members are encouraged to come and join us on the first Sunday of every month at Grafton Showground.

For full details check our calendar

Classes are run each Sunday at 3.30pm – 5pm
(from 4.30pm – 6pm during daylight savings time)

Classes are based on this schedule
sometimes subject to change on the day

Each week you have a choice of classes to attend.  An Induction class is held on the first Sunday of the month for new members to the club. Basic Manners and Basic Obedience are the only compulsory classes. Other classes offered include:

  • Intermediate / Advanced / Masters Obedience
  • Rally Obedience
  • Basic / Intermediate / Advanced Agility
  • Tricks
  • Basic Tracking
  • Rally Obedience
  • Social Skills

Occasionally other classes are offered from time to time. Not all classes are offered each week.
trainingclasses1All dogs are trained in classes with others at the same stage of training. However, dogs and handlers are all individuals, so everyone works at their own pace within each class. If you are an inexperienced handler, have a dog with problems or are unable to attend training every week, it will naturally take a little longer to graduate from each class. As your training progresses you will be given a Certificate of Achievement when you graduate from each class.

For your dog to become a well behaved member of your family we recommend that your dog graduate from Basic Manners, Basic Obedience and Intermediate Obedience as these classes represent the basic training your dog needs for you to control him/her both on and off lead. If you get bitten by the training bug, you may decide to go on to more advanced training, branch out into other areas of interest or to eventually compete in official competitions with your dog.

Whatever your aim in training your dog, we hope you and your dog enjoy training with us.

HAPPY TRAINING!
